The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. – Psalm 85:12
The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. – Psalm 85:12
To God everything he created was good (Genesis 1:31). We must be in charge of ourselves. He deposited in us the power to choose GOOD or EVIL; but he urges us to choose GOOD (1 Corinthians 10:23). The battle to do good and/evil goes on in us every time. However, it is refreshing to know that the bible states in Romans 9:16 that is not he that wills but it it is God that show his mercy onto all of us. The mercy and goodness of God is so paramount to our success on earth.
In Genesis, it is the goodness and mercy of God that gave us a way out (Genesis 4:13-15) after we had first sinned. We learn in Genesis 5:18-24 also that Enoch walked with God diligently and obediently, he therefore understood who God was and is. We had to offer sacrifices to atone for our sins and/or make sacrifices to get to the next level.
So people ask, why do we suffer especially as Christians?; It is for a reason. We decree and declare onto ourselves what Isaiah said in Isaiah 8:18. He talked about we are born for signs and wonders. The woman with the issue of blood in Luke 8:43-48 had to pass through people, struggling with humiliation to be able to get to Jesus just to touch the hem of His garment with faith. What of David?, he had to also go through discouragement to kill Goliath. But without he killing Goliath, we might not have heard so much about David.
No one can ever make it to his/her full potential till they overcome or solve the peoples’ problems. It is quite refreshing to remember that because Christ lives we can face tomorrow and without you, there would never be fulfilment of God’s promise.
We need to make real sacrifices to enable us reach our targets and/or goals in life. Why? ..because we chose this path as human beings; though in the beginning it was not so.
In Gen. 4:1-7, we study an important lesson; the true and false approaches to God. Cain and Abel, both children of Adam and Eve were farmers. Cain was into crops whiles Abel was into animals. They got up one day and decided to sacrifice onto God. However, God did not accept that of Cain but accepted that of Abel, why??? A reason is not because Cain offered crop sacrifices whiles Abel offered animals. Abel’s sacrifice was accepted due to his personality and his attitude towards God. So why was Cain angry? There should be some background reasons for Cain’s attitude. This is where personality comes into play.
God in His loving kindness even (in Gen. 4:6-7) offered Cain an explanation to His rejection of his (Cain’s) offering, gave him plans for the redemption of the situation and also His (God’s) direct advice concerning sinning. What did Cain do? He threw all those back at God and CHOSE to still carry on. Cain therefore sinned against God and man. Sin is the contradiction of one’s conscience and that of others; to disorganise somebody’s life.
Reading 1 Samuel 15:22 and Ecclesiastes 5:1, we find out that it is better to obey than to sacrifice. It was not until we sinned that sacrifices needed to be made to atone for our sins.
The disobedience of God’s word leads us to think that we can fight for God and protect the church. But if we understand 2 Timothy 2:15, we would work daily towards increasing our knowledge in God’s word which is the truth. As Christians our personality needs to be right; not the Cain’s worship approach of pride and disobedience. If we worry about these first and leave the other things to God, then He would use us as rocks to straighten His body (church) Matthew 16:18.
As clay in the potter’s hands, so we are supposed to be in the hands of God. Yes,…. the potter can mould the clay to what ever the potter chooses. As humans, God has given us the power of choice as stated in Rev. 3:20. We decide everything that we want to do.
If you read Matt. 13 especially from Matt. 13:18-30 one can understand that there are three sowing grounds and we decide which ground our seeds fall. This is the year of harvest but you can only reap what you sow. Sowing is not only about giving money at church but is also about giving of our time and energy to God’s work. What 2 Cor. 9:6-7 motivates us to do is not to give grumpily. However, give as directed by God and as led from the heart.
Now when one becomes born again, Jesus says ask me of anything and I would tell my father in heaven to provide you. It is time to change the way we think if we are to progress far in life. What ever we are today is a result of our decisions yesterday. Everything we need to progress in life is deposited inside of us and even IF it is not inside of us for one reason or the other, there is some one near us who can help. How do we know that someone?
God commanded things to be done. He demands(commands) us to serve Him.
In Genesis 1:1-2, the bible says that the earth was shapeless and that it was also disorganised. He commanded everything into existence apart from humans. God created man in His own image and then commended humans to take dominion over this creations.
Humans were created to take dominion over the other creations of God but due to lack of knowledge, we die! In Isaiah 45:1-3, God revealed that he will open our eyes so will have the skills to manage his creations and gradually develop ourselves.
One can see that only anointed people of God who seek Him first and discover God’s purpose for their lives shall do exploits and discover things(mysteries).
So how do we discover God’s purpose for our lives??
Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you. – Luke 6:38
Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. Psalm 61:1-3
